As part of the "GreenNiedax" initiative, Niedax has been purchasing and processing initial quantities of certified, CO2-reduced steel from various large steel producers since June this year. This emission-reduced steel enables the group of companies to produce the first product segments in its own steel service centres at Boecker Stahl and BSH with a significantly more favourable carbon footprint. The special feature: The material properties have the same high quality as the existing steel goods, but are produced more sustainably.

The German market will soon be able to benefit from this innovation: From November 2023, the first quantities of the clickable and versatile NX CITO Line cable tray RLVC in dimensions 60.100 to 60.300, including accessories in CO₂-reduced form, will be sold.

Stefan Kowitz, overall sales manager Germany at Niedax, said:

"In perspective, we want to gradually bring these products closer to the market. From a sales perspective, we see potential particularly with customers who are aiming for CO₂ savings in a global context. With this first important step towards more sustainable business, we are gathering important application-related knowledge. On this basis, we will specifically analyse which other product lines will be made from the more sustainable steel in the future."
