DIN 4102 Part 12
In Germany, the DIN 4102 Part 12 standard applies to cable systems with circuit integrity maintenance. It regulates the requirements and measures for ensuring the circuit integrity maintenance of electrical cable systems in the event of fire.
The scope of application is limited to cables with rated voltages up to 1 kV. Standard support structures are also defined by DIN 4102 Part 12.
The following contents are included in the standard:
- Scope of application
- Normative references
- Cable system and circuit integrity maintenance
- Measures to achieve circuit integrity maintenance
- Proof of circuit integrity maintenance
- Requirements for
- Testing
- Transfer of test results
- Test certificate
- Proof of conformity
- Marking
In general, electrical wiring systems must remain functional for a period of 30 (E30) or 90 minutes (E90), which are responsible for supplying life-saving current collectors in the event of a fire.
The background to this is to ensure the safe evacuation of people from the building and to minimize material damage.
Cable systems with integrated circuit integrity maintenance in accordance with DIN 4102 Part 12 include the cable laying system (e.g. cable ray, cable ladder) in combination with specific cables.
However, cables that have been tested on a standard support structure may also be installed on the standard support structures of other manufacturers without separate testing.
