Cable - Specific Installation Systems

In the event of fire, DIN 4102 Part 12 stipulates that the electrical circuit integrity maintenance of technically important systems must be ensured. This includes the supply cables for extinguishing systems, alarm systems and smoke and heat extraction systems.

Special functional integrity cables are installed for open laying on cable tray systems. Depending on the design, these ensure function for up to 90 minutes even in the event of direct flame impingement.

In contrast to standard support structures, the cables that can be used with cable-specific support systems are specified. The associated verification is only valid for the combination of cable support system and cable tested by an approved test center.

The proof of usability for the product is the German classification report (abP).

Advantages of cable-specific installation systems

As with standard support structures, there are also certain advantages to cable-specific installation systems:

  • Support structures and the associated cable types are tested and fit together in combination

  • Large selection of approved cable types

  • Preferably used for larger objects

  • Lower installation and material costs than with standard support structures

Niedax offers various cable-specific support structures and installation methods.

The planner's specifications must be observed when selecting the products. All parameters for installation and the components that can be used must comply with the specifications of the test certificates.

The following Niedax product groups are tested and approved in accordance with DIN 4102 Part 12:

The systems were tested with cables from the manufacturers Dätwyler Cables, Kabelwerk Eupen and Prysmian at German testing institutes.
