Circuit integrity maintenance is an essential element of building safety. In the event of a fire, escape and rescue routes must be usable to enable people and animals to evacuate safely. Important technical equipment such as emergency lighting, smoke extraction systems and fire alarm systems must be kept functional. 

This means that the power supply for these elements must also be available for a certain period of time in the event of a fire.  This requires a certain heat resistance, as temperatures can rise to 1,000 °C and more.

The copper conductors glow under these extreme conditions and lose mechanical stability in the process. The cable laying system is therefore of particular importance.
